Enchantment. Clarity. Those were the two words I kept repeating over and over to myself as I created this. There is a great deal of enchantment in healing others. There is a great deal of clarity in responsibility. I went about this commission imagining you, a woman whom I have never met. She appreciates earth tones, lives in an adobe house, loves her family, thrives in her career. She is drawn to turquoise, loves Georgia O'Keeffe and Baje Whitehorne. She worked on a reservation for some time as a pediatrician. She watched her sister having asthma attacks as a scared young girl and dedicated her life to making sure kids that were sick felt safe and had the best care.
I was struck by the dynamic of warmth and the ability to give people difficult information with grace. To me, that is the ultimate enchantment. I believe children and their parents alike feel safe and comfortable in your care. You are a natural healer that has worked very hard to have the correct skill and information in these realms that will bring profound value to the ones that need it most. The ultimate clarity.
One of the most incredible things I have ever seen in my life is the White Sands Missle Range right at sunset. It was as if the colors of the sky were reflected in the white sand. I share that to highlight the principle "as above is below." I feel that you have a unique, equal dynamic of Earth and Sky therefore just like the sky reflecting on the grounds of the White Sands, the enchantment and clarity of the Sky have been created using the depth of Earth tone
This piece is a celestial yet grounded frequency of the magic within the Earth realm. Each of my art pieces represents a vortex of frequency. Like one day if you couldn't see physical forms of people and places, you could only feel the frequencies and describe them. This one was made with you specifically in mind. The balance of Earth and Sky I feel within you brought me to the Chasing Star Kachina again and again. A spirit that was of the stars but equally as mystical and powerful of a healer who chose to come and live amongst the Earth. So I guess truly, you are a spirit of the stars too, just here on Earth helping and healing others to the best of your ability. It is why I named her "The Mark Of The Chasing Star."
Watching and feeling this work of art come alive and getting to know you through your sister awakened my spirit to the beauty and stability of care is still thriving in this world today, despite all that I read. Thank you for being here, for being you, and for inspiring this art.
