Some people you meet and speak to and know instantly that they have been beautiful their entire life. Beautiful in a grounded and structured way. Beautiful in a physical sense sure. But it’s a deeper form of beauty as well, one that lives in the way they can make other people feel. That feeling of knowing that there is no end to their ability to give. It is that frequency that brought you two beautiful daughters, both warm, funny and imaginative in their distinct ways. It is that frequency that outlines the perfection of your home but also the comfort of it, and how it is warm, and inviting. It is also that frequency that brought you Jax, with his perfectly proportioned Beagle face and heart.
Silver is said to be a mirror to the soul, helping us to see ourselves as others see us. Silver represents strength, clarity and focus. Silver is feminine and highlights the frequencies of the moon, whereas the sun is masculine. The sun is the additional life force that allows everything to grow, whereas the moon, the reflective silver aspect- manages everything. This painting is a portrait of the masculine and feminine colliding, and the intricate beauty of the the family, home and life you have created together throughout this life experience. Valerie being the silver moon and Angelo carrying the energy of the sun. Together that makes this shining, silver sun.
There is an immense power between you two and all that you create, and with that power comes incredible duality and life lessons. The rays of this sun are both gold and silver. The texture can appear cracked and chaotic at first - but those imperfections create the necessary depth to tell the story. Through sitting with this painting for days I have to come to believe she has her very own powerful ocean like tide.
This is because I am first so drawn to just seeing the middle - the silver sun, the reflection of you combined in all of her imperfect sparkle, but then my eyes are drawn out into the color, into the life stories, into the connections, the utter randomness at some moments. It feels like a dance of light and dark, sparkle and fade, perfection and confusion until again, my eyes are drawn back into the middle - to the silver sun, to the power of the impact of the love you have created together. It reminds me of watching the tides.
How at times there can be a lot of volume and movement in the ocean but it is still the ocean. The bigger picture is always perfect. There is no denying the elegance and warmth you create and how it impacts everyone around you. The shattered glass with the circles around them represents all of the people throughout your life together that you have impacted. I do love that there are so many women in your family. During the conversations, we have had I personally have felt supported, appreciated and a part of and in this world, in this time I deeply appreciate that.
Immaculate was a word that kept coming up for me. Your home to me is strikingly immaculate, just as your daughters are strikingly, immaculately beautiful. I love the way that all of your photos are surrounded by a large (mostly female :) family - and the brightness of the light that radiates off of all of your smiles in the presence of each other. Almost like stars around a planet, all of the reflective pieces of blue glass with a silver or gold leaf circle around them within this art represent your friend and family spread all around the world, as you have impacted many great people, in many great places, in many great ways.
Thank you for your enthusiasm and vulnerability. Thank you for allowing me to really see and feel you, and thank you for giving me the ability to create something that speaks so beautifully, in such an immaculate and clear voice. An orb of light and connection so powerful and rare it had to turn the sun silver.
